Leak Detection

Compressed air is probably the most expensive energy source on your site. Of all the energy supplied to a compressor, as little as 8-10 per cent could ultimately reach the point of use.

To minimise inefficiencies, we recommend checking for and repairing leaks regularly. The average leak rate in the UK is estimated to be between 20% and 30%, which represents a significant cost to your company as well unnecessary carbon emissions.

Our ultra-sonic leak detection can be performed at any time – there’s no need for production to be stopped. The instrument determines the size of the leak, so we can quickly calculate the potential costs and how urgently it should be repaired.

We undertook this survey at a food producer and found 48 leaks, ranging from 0.1 to 6 cfm.  After these were rectified we reduced our customer’s energy costs by approximately £37k per annum.
